About This Project

The Globalink Joint Venture (Acciona Ghella Joint Venture) was selected to competitively tender to Transurban for the design and construct contract for the connection of what was the F3Freeway in the north to the M2 Motorway in the south. The project comprises 9 km of dual tunnel connecting with interchanges at Wahroonga and Pennant Hills. Globalink comprised Acciona of Spain and Ghella of Italy.

Acciona and Ghella were both busy at the time of the tender and committed with significant resources to completing the Legacy Way tunnel as well as tendering for many other projects in Sydney and Queensland in a similar timeframe. Accordingly JukesTodd were engaged to provide senior resources into key roles to undertake significant aspects of the tender compilation. This included:

  • Design Management – this involved providing a Design Manager to coordinate the efforts of several large design houses in JV who were preparing the tender concept design
  • Estimate Management – this involved overseeing the estimating effort of a number of local and international estimators to build an overall estimate in a computer aided estimating system
  • Surface Works Construction Management – this involved developing a constructible and efficient methodology around the major intersections with particular emphasis on traffic management, spoil disposal and efficiency of construction.
