As an engineer, Steve commenced his career developing and delivering resource projects with construction contractors, EPC and EPCM firms. This extended to domestic and international roles in the resources sector in Australia, Asia, Canada and South America.
For more than 15 years, Steve has proven capability across feasibility assessment, project financing, engineering design, project delivery, commercial, project services and general management in multiple sectors and commodities including bulks (coal and iron ore), base and precious metals. In his role at JukesTodd, Steve utilises this experience to assist clients to develop, fund and deliver their projects.
Recently, Steve has delivered lead roles within the Wiggins Island Coal Export Terminal and Baralaba Coal Expansion projects as the General Manager – Projects and Project Director as part of integrated Owners teams. His involvement has extended to the management of project development teams as Project Manager/Director, technical and bankable feasibility studies, developing execution and contracting strategies, securing approvals including key stakeholder negotiations and project financing from arrangement to financial close.
Steve is engaged in a number of resources industry forums and associations and is on the council of the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies (AMEC).
Steve’s diverse experience has enabled him to understand the full complement of challenges his clients face during project planning, development and delivery, ensuring considered and balanced outcomes.
