Nic Condon

Principal – Rail

Nic has over 20 years’ experience working within the rail industry, including roles as the Project Director for Calibre on GVK’s Alpha Coal Rail Project, and BHP Billiton’s Goonyella to Abbott Point rail project.

Prior to joining Calibre, Nic spent 15 years in various roles within QR National (now Aurizon), in which he developed strong skills in the commercial and operational aspects of the railway industry, particularly with respect to rail operations and network accreditation, and QR National’s network access processes.

Since moving into the project environment, Nic has focused on the mining and rail sectors, and possesses the experience required to lead the development and planning of infrastructure to service new and existing mines in these areas, as well as manage client, stakeholder and internal expectations and relationships to ensure project and business success is achieved.

Nic’s strong background in finance, exceptional communication and negotiation techniques, and people management skills complement the relationship management expertise required to form strong strategic relationships within the rail and mining industries, and with government stakeholders.
Well known in the mining and rail industries; Nic has delivered several planning and development strategy papers to a number of mining industry forums such as Mining the Isa and the Queensland Resource Council.
